Greenhouse construction began on July 28, 2016 with site preparation, followed by foundation construction, GAHT and radiant heat system installation, then metal frame erection.
"Today I was able to use tape measures, power drills, hammers, and screws. These all helped me gain a greater knowledge for the materials I was using. Having other members watch helped as well, because they knew what they were doing when it was their turn. Seeing the completed trusses helped me understand the height of the ceiling in the greenhouse."
I think our group today was a success as a team as all five of us worked together on the east and west wall structural pieces and figuring out the errors within our actual construction there. Lisa, Charles and I were working on the east wall, and at the same time Eve and Malcolm were working on the west wall. After taking the measurements of the actual construction and identifying the errors, we got together to compare and discuss our findings. We then divided our five-person group into teams of two, and each team will be responsible for the construction and drilling of one specific metal parts onto the metal framework for the next class. I think we did finish our expected amount of work in time and have a well-established plan for the next time we would work together.
