More Than A Greenhouse
Pomfret School's intentions for the Helios Project reach far beyond the school. Since community and service are large parts of the Pomfret experience, it only makes sense that Pomfret and neighboring towns receive the same benefits our students do.
Helios will have enough capacity to output nearly 600 heads of lettuce, along with other crops, and a portion of which will be sent to communities in need. As Pomfret lies in the less-affluent area of Connecticut, we know our community, as well as surrounding communities, will appreciate our efforts to help others.
One way we plan to accomplish this is by partnering with TEEG, which is a non-profit organization based in Thompson, CT. Due to our incessant service for the community, Pomfret School already has an outstanding reputation and relationship with TEEG.
